That's Cool

It's like this. I like to write. I really do. In factuality (not a real word but should be), I write blog posts in my head ALL THE TIME. And letters. I write letters to people in my head too. And emails, which I guess is basically the same thing. So it makes no sense that I don't post those only-written-in-my-brain posts. So maybe I will begin again. Knowing me, I'll have to begin again and again and again. But, we'll see....

It's been awhile since my last post. Here's an update:

*still crazy
*still love being a mom
*still learning how to be a good wife to my poor husband
*am back to teaching! woweee! who woulda thunk it? after staying home with lane, drew, and kate for 14 years, i am back in the classroom. woot!
*was in grad school for two semesters....am hopeful to finish that journey eventually.

So the teaching thing... it's a Kindergarten position in a year round school. The Kindergarten part works for me, the year round part not so much. The rest of the fam is on a traditional schedule, so coordinating my time off with their schedule is pretty wonky.

I'm not actually teaching Kindergarten, even though I said I was. The school is waiting to fill another K classroom to the state mandated capacity(25 five year olds- yikes!) before splitting up classes to make my class. In the meantime, I am doing some literacy intervention for the lowest kids in each kindergarten class and, starting Monday, will teach Kindergarten Science. I will see one K class a day for some science fun!

I'm super excited about this new gig for several reasons:
*i'm outta the house
*i'm in real people clothes (read: not in jammies all day)
*i'm using my brain (read: not in a sleeping/tv watching zone all day)
*i'm making new friends
*i'm more motivated at home (read: i'm doing the laundry and making dinners)

Not an exciting post, I know, but in factuality (there it is again) I am in an exciting place in my life.

So, that's cool.
